Redbox Multimedias were commissioned by Stena line ferrys to design an interactive touch screen games system incorporating Curious George™, the adventurous monkey, to keep the younger passengers entertained during the crossing between Stranraer and Belfast onboard the newley refurbished HSS Stena Voyager.
Having had Fingabox touch screen games kiosks onboard the Stena Europe, which sails between Fishguard to Rosslare, and these proving to be successful with children, Stena line new that Redbox Multimedias had the expertise to design, program and install such a project that would be befitting for the reintroduction into service of the HSS Stena Voyager.
Stena line had created a designated children's soft play area onboard HSS Stena Voyager and the Curious George™ games touch screen games quad unit was to be the centre piece. As well as the Curious George games quad unit there was also Curious George™ wall mounted touch screen games units fitted.
The schematic drawings for the proposed Curious George™ games quad seated unit and Curious George™ games wall mounted units along with the Curious George™ games graphics and the ideas for the Curious George™ touch screen games had to be forwarded to Universal studios in Florida for approval prior to commencement of the programming and manufacturing.
So successful was the Curious George™ games interactive touch screen games system that when Stena Navigator was brought into service, Redbox Multimedias fitted two of the Curious George™ games touch screen quad units and four Curious George™ games wall mounted touch screen units into the childrens play area.
Redbox Multimedias have also fitted a Curious George™ games touch screen games quad unit and two of the Curious George™ wall mounted touch screen units to the Stena Europe in the children's soft play area when it was undergoing a refurbishment.
Curious George™ touch screen games have now been fitted to the newest of the Stena ferries, Stena Superfast 7 and Stena Superfast 8. The two new superfast ferries have been brought in to replace HSS Stena Voyager and Stena Navigator and sail from their new port of Loch Ryan, next to the town of Cairnryan, to the Port of Belfast. These Superfast ferries have their own play area located on deck 7 for the younger passengers to play in.
